The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
