Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
