The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 by the dawn-raiders 3 Then, therewith, with their trail of dust, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Surely Man is ungrateful to his Lord, 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Does he not know that when that which is in the graves is overthrown, 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 Surely, on that Day, they will know that their Lord had full knowledge of them all. 11
