Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, the Mighty, the Forgiver. 66 Say: "This is a message tremendous: 67 From which you turn away. 68 “What did I know of the heavenly world, when the angels had disputed.” 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 (Remember) When your Lord said to the angels, “I will create a human from clay.” – 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 73 Except Iblis; he was proud and was, from the beginning, a disbeliever. 74 Said (God): "O Iblis, what hindered you from adoring what I created by My own authority? Are you too proud, or too high and mighty?" 75 He said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay. 76 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state] - for, behold, thou art henceforth accursed, 77 And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense." 78 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 79 Allah said: verily, thou art of those respited. 80 till the Day whose Hour I know.” 81 (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong, 82 except for those among them who are Your chosen servants." 83 He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: 84 I shall assuredly fill Gehenna with thee, and with whosoever of them follows thee, all together.' 85 Say thou: I ask of you for it no hire, nor am I of the affecters. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 You will certainly know its truthfulness after a certain time. 88
