The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
THE LAST HOUR draws near, and the moon is split asunder! 1 And when they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Just a customary magic!” 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 And withal, there has come unto them many a tiding that should have restrained [their arrogance]: 4 Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not. 5 Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the summoner will summon mankind unto a thing unpleasant. 6 abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, 7 These disbelievers will say, "This is a hard day". 8 ۞ Before these, the people of Nooh denied and they belied Our bondman and said, “He is a madman” and rebuffed him. 9 Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!" 10 And so We caused the gates of heaven to open with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. 12 And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails 13 floated on under Our eyes: a vindication of him who had been rejected. 14 We made (the story of Noah) as evidence of the Truth. However, is there anyone who would take heed? 15 So how did My punishment turn out, and My threats? 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 And there belied the A'ad; so how dreadful have been My torment and warning! 18 Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, 19 it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted: 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
