The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
