Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
