He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 you attend to him, 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 and who has fear of God, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
