The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 to their promise, 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
