Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 upon her neck a rope of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
