And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
