And [mention] Noah, when he called [to Allah] before [that time], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great flood. 76 and We helped him against a people who rejected Our signs as false. They were indeed an evil people and so We drowned them all. 77 We bestowed the same favour upon David and Solomon. Recall, when they gave judgement regarding a tillage into which the sheep of some people had strayed at night, and We were witnesses to their judgement. 78 To Solomon We inspired the (right) understanding of the matter: to each (of them) We gave Judgment and Knowledge; it was Our power that made the hills and the birds celebrate Our praises, with David: it was We Who did (all these things). 79 And We taught him to make a garment for you, to protect you from your hurt; so will you be thankful? 80 And We subdued the strongly raging wind to Solomon which blew at his bidding towards the land We blessed. We know everything. 81 And of the evil ones (subdued We unto him) some who dived (for pearls) for him and did other work, and We were warders unto them. 82 ۞ And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." 83 Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store, and a remembrance for the worshippers; 84 And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience; 85 And they were admitted to Our grace. Verily they were among the doers of good. 86 Remember the man in the whale [Jonah] when he went away in anger, thinking We had no power over him. But he cried out in the darkness, "There is no deity but You. Glory be to You! I was indeed wrong." 87 So We answered him, and We delivered him from the distress, and Thus do We deliver the believers. 88 Zachariah prayed, "Lord, do not leave me alone without offspring, although you are the best heir". 89 So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive. 90 And she who guarded her chastity! Then We breathed into her of Our spirit, and made her and her son a sign unto the worlds. 91 Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 But men have torn their unity wide asunder, [forgetting that] unto Us they all are bound to return. 93
