The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
