The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
