The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 We have made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 for those on the Right, 38
