The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
