The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
