۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,- 76 That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran). 77 In a Book kept hidden 78 Which none can touch except the purified. 79 a sending down from the Lord of all Being. 80 Would you, now, look down with disdain on a tiding like this, 81 And make it your provision that ye should belie it? 82 So why was it not, when the soul reaches up to the throat, – 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 So why is it not, that if you are not to be repaid, – 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, 88 Then happiness and bounty and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, 90 (he will be greeted with): 'Peace be upon you, Companion of the Right' 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water, 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 Verily, this is indeed the truth of truths! 95 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 96
