The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
