Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what do you know what that indubitable event is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In a high garden 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
