The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
