The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 And your garments purify! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that will surely be a hard day, 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 Never. He is refractory of Our signs. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 Then looked he, 21 frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
