The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
