The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a host of the ancients 13 and a few from later times. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
