The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
