The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
