The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
