That was Our argument which We gave to Abraham against his people. We raise in ranks whom We will. Truly your lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing. 83 And We gave to him Ishaq and Yaqoub; each did We guide, and Nuh did We guide before, and of his descendants, Dawood and Sulaiman and Ayub and Yusuf and Musa and Haroun; and thus do We reward those who do good (to others). 84 And Zakariya and Yahya and Isa and Ilyas; every one was of the good; 85 And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot. Each one (of them) did We prefer above (Our) creatures, 86 (To them) and to their fathers, and progeny and brethren: We chose them, and we guided them to a straight way. 87 That is Allah's guidance wherewith He guides those of His servants whom He wills. But if they ever associated others with Allah in His divinity, then all that they had done would have gone to waste. 88 Those are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and command and prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein, then indeed We shall entrust it to a people who will not be disbelievers therein. 89 These are the ones whom Allah guided, so follow their guidance; say (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “I do not ask from you any fee for the Qur’an; it is nothing but an advice to the entire world.” 90
