Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
