And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
