Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the bright forenoon, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 Therefor the orphan oppress not, 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
