Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
