And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 no caring friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
