Joseph (Yousuf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
AlifLaamRa. Those are the verses of the Clear Book. 1 We have revealed it as a Recitation in Arabic that you may fully understand. 2 (O Muhammad), by revealing the Qur'an to you We narrate to you in the best manner the stories of the past although before this narration you were utterly unaware of them. 3 (Remember) when Yusuf (Joseph) said to his father: "O my father! Verily, I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating themselves to me." 4 his father said, "My son, do not tell your dream to your brothers lest they plot against you; satan is the sworn enemy of man. 5 And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of sayings and make His favor complete to you and to the children of Yaqoub, as He made it complete before to your fathers, Ibrahim and Ishaq; surely your Lord is Knowing, Wise. 6
