And [thereafter,] indeed, We assigned unto the children of Israel a most goodly abode, and provided for them sustenance out of the good things of life. And it was not until knowledge [of God's revelation] was vouchsafed to them that they began to hold divergent views: [but,] verily, thy Sustainer will judge between them on Resurrection Day regarding all on which they were wont to differ. 93 But if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed to you, ask those who read the Book before you; certainly the truth has come to you from your Lord, therefore you should not be of the disputers. 94 nor be of those who have called God's revelations lies lest you become lost. 95 Indeed those for whom the Word of your Lord has proved true, will not believe. 96 even though every sign [of the truth] should come within their ken - until they behold the grievous suffering [that awaits them in the life to come]. 97 Then has there not been a [single] city that believed so its faith benefited it except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and gave them enjoyment for a time. 98 And [thus it is:] had thy Sustainer so willed, all those who live on earth would surely have attained to faith, all of them: dost thou, then, think that thou couldst compel people to believe, 99 And it is not for a soul to believe except by Allah's permission; and He casts uncleanness on those who will not understand. 100 Say thou: behold that which is in the heavens and the earth; and signs and warnings avail not those who will not believe. 101 What expect they save the like of the days of those who passed away before them? Say: Expect then! I am with you among the expectant. 102 We saved Our Messengers and those who believed; We must save the believers. 103
