We gave Moses the Book, and appointed his brother Aaron as his supporter. 35 (Then) We said: 'Go to the nation who have belied Our signs' And We utterly destroyed them. 36 And the people of Noah,- when they rejected the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them as a Sign for mankind; and We have prepared for (all) wrong-doers a grievous Penalty;- 37 to 'Ad, and Thamud, and the people of al-Rass, and as We did for the many a generation between them. 38 to each of them We gave examples, and each of them We utterly ruined. 39 And indeed they have visited the township upon which had rained a harmful rain; so were they not seeing it? In fact, they never expected to be raised again. 40 Whenever they see you, they mock you (saying): 'Is this whom Allah has sent as a Messenger? 41 "He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!" - Soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path! 42 Have you considered him who takes his own lust for his god? Can you stand a surety for him? 43 Or deemest thou that most of them hear or understand? They are but as the cattle - nay, but they are farther astray? 44
