The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
