The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and extended shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 undiminished and never denied 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins. 36 full of love, well-matched 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
