The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
