۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
