The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He who has sent down the Criterion to His worshiper (Prophet Muhammad), that he is a warner to all mankind; 1 He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring) and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements. 2 And yet, some choose to worship, instead of Him, imaginary deities that cannot create anything but are themselves created, and have it not within their power to avert harm from, or bring benefit to, themselves, and have no power over death, nor over life, nor over resurrection! 3 Those who disbelieve say: This is naught but a lie that he hath invented, and other folk have helped him with it, so that they have produced a slander and a lie. 4 And they say: "Fables of ancient times which he has caused to be written down, so that they might be read out to him at morn and evening!" 5 O Muhammad, say to them, "This has been sent down by Him, Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth." The fact is that He is very Forgiving and Merciful. 6 They also say, 'What ails this Messenger that he eats food, and goes in the markets? Why has an angel not been sent down to him, to be a warner with him? 7 Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic." 8 See what likenesses do they apply to you, so they have gone astray, therefore they shall not be able to find a way. 9
