And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
