Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
