Would that you could see the guilty standing before their Lord with their heads downcast, (saying to Him): “Our Lord, we have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world) that we might act righteously. For now we have come to have firm faith.” 12 And had We willed We would have given every soul its guidance, but My Word is decreed that I will certainly fill hell with these jinns and men, combined. 13 We shall say to them, "Taste this -- for you forgot you would ever meet this Day. We too will forget you -- taste the chastisement of Eternity for your [evil] deeds!" 14 Only they believe in Our revelations who, when they are reminded, bow in adoration, and give praise to their Lord, and do not become arrogant. ۩ 15 They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend. 16 So no soul knows what is hidden for them of that which will refresh the eyes; a reward for what they did. 17 Is he then who is a believer like him who is a transgressor? They are not equal. 18 As for those who believe and act righteously, theirs shall be Gardens to dwell in, a hospitality to reward them for their deeds. 19 As for those who disobey, their abode is Hell. Whensoever they wish to escape from it they would be dragged back into it, and told: "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to call a lie." 20 And surely We shall make them taste of the smaller torment prior to the greater torment, that haply they may yet return. 21 Who is more wicked than he who is reminded of his Lord's revelations yet turns away from them; We will surely requite the sinners. 22
