S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 What, has the Remembrance been sent down on him out of us all?' Nay, but they are in doubt of My Remembrance; nay, they have not yet tasted My chastisement. 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
