Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your deeds; yet He forgives much. 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 If one avenges himself after he has been wronged, there is no way of blaming him. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
