Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 Thamud, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
