Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
