Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden on high, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
