And the Thamud belied the warnings. 23 and they said: "Are we to follow one single mortal, one from among ourselves? In that case, behold, we would certainly sink into error and folly! 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And let them know that the water [of their wells] is to be divided between them, with each share of water equitably apportioned." 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition: is there then any one who would be admonished. 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 As a favour from Us. That is how We reward the grateful. 35 And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning. 38 So taste My chastisement and My warning. 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
